A24’s ‘The Drama’ Full Trailer Hints At What Has Happy Couple On Edge Before The Big Day

UPDATE, 6 AM: A longer trailer for the Zendaya– and Robert Pattinson-starring The Drama has arrived, giving more context to what may have unsettled the pair leading up to their characters’ wedding.
Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson) are preparing for the big day by taking dance lessons, fine-tuning speeches and more when another couple with whom they are friends (played by Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie) prompts them to say the worst thing they’ve ever done before they tie the knot. This leads to what may be a unrecoverable confession from Emma that adds tension to the lead-up to their nuptials.
Earlier on in the clip, Emma admits to Charlie being both her first love and first crush. Haim’s character asks, in shock, “At 30?”
Things escalate in a montage of a car crashing into a tree, an argument at the wedding ceremony, Pattinson’s Charlie throwing a chair and Zendaya’s Emma pulling a knife on Charlie.
“It’s just, there’s some drama,” Pattinson says at the end.
The film also stars Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters. The Drama arrives in theaters April 3 via A24.

PREVIOUSLY, December 10, 2025: Save April 3, 2026 as the date for A24’s The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The film’s first trailer is here.
Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the film watches Zendaya and Pattinson, a happily engaged couple, get tested when their wedding week goes off the rails thanks to an unexpected turn.
The clip opens on an awkward-looking Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) getting some photos taken ahead of their wedding. The photographer senses “some nerves” and tries posing them next to each other against a gray backdrop, asking them to smile like they would in life.
As the photographer asks each part of the couple their favorite things about the other, a montage of their daily life flows as Charlie calls Emma “beautiful” and “funny” and says she has “the best life.” Emma, in turn calls Charlie “caring, understanding and open-minded,” the last word landing during a shot of her slapping Pattinson’s character in the face during sex.
“Remember, you know each other really well,” the photographer says, encouraging the pair to hold onto those thoughts. Mamoudou Athie makes a toast at their wedding, an alarm blares in a dark entryway, Pattinson’s Charlie throws a chair and then can be seen saying “just some drama” on the street before Zendaya’s Emma chugs some brown liquor.
