Kelly Clarkson is ending her talk show after seven seasons. NBC confirms that Clarkson made a “personal decision to step away” from hosting the show this year. Season seven will run through fall 2026, with a few special guest hosts in between, but Clarkson will be there for most of the season. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This isn’t goodbye,” Clarkson shared in a statement. “I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
The singer-songwriter has hosted the show since its inception in 2019 in Los Angeles before moving to New York. The show features segments with interviews with stars such as Jack Black and Tanner from Love on the Spectrum, as well as Kellyoke, in which Clarkson sings covers of popular songs. Clarkson took a brief hiatus from hosting last year, later explaining that it was to be present for her children, as their father was ill. As for what’s next for Clarkson, she’ll begin her Las Vegas residency this summer and will hopefully add a Kellyoke or two, just for old times’ sake.
