Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns Injures Eye in Collision, Bloody Jersey Seen in Video, Photos

Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a bloody eye after a collision with Spencer Jones’ head during Wednesday’s matchup between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets.

Towns was bandaged up after the collision, returned to the game to shoot his free throws and promptly left the game again and went back to the locker room.

It was quite the sequence from KAT:

The 30-year-old is having arguably his worst statistical season since his rookie year by his own lofty standards, averaging 19.8 points and 11.9 boards per game while shooting 35.7 percent from three. Averaging a double-double is not small feat, of course, and he was still named an All-Star.

The Knicks also are at their best when running a more balanced attack, with six players averaging 12 or more points per game this season. Only Jalen Brunson is averaging more than 15 shots per game (20.4 SPG), and the Knicks are simply better when they spread the ball around.

KAT is naturally one of the players whose name comes up when the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors are discussed, given that the Knicks are considered a potential suitor.

But for now he remains in New York, and on Wednesday he literally bled for the Knicks.
