Flames’ Jonathan Huberdeau requires hip surgery, done for season

The Calgary Flames forward requires hip surgery and will be out for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Thursday.
Huberdeau played in the Flames’ Wednesday night victory over the Edmonton Oilers and recorded the opening goal. It was his decision to play one final game this year with Calgary, Friedman adds.
The 32-year-old is in the third year of an eight-year, $84 million contract running through the 2030-31 season.
Huberdeau will finish this year with 10 goals and 15 assists in 50 games.
The Flames are near the bottom of the standings with a 23-27-6 record.
