Derek Rae intriguingly states who Celtic will view as their striker – Tomas Cvancara or Junior Adamu

Martin O’Neill got his wish because Celtic boosted the forward line during the January transfer window.
Striker Tomas Cvancara arrived early in the window, and then on deadline day, Celtic signed the versatile forward, Junior Adamu.
Adamu joins Celtic on loan from SC Freiburg, whilst Cvancara also spent time in the Bundesliga, representing Borussia Monchengladbach.
One man who watched the duo up close and personal in Germany is Scottish commentator Derek Rae, and he shared some interesting views on the attacking duo.

Who is Celtic’s main striker? Tomas Cvancara or Junior Adamu?
Cvancara has made a solid start to his Celtic career, including assisting on debut against Hearts and then scoring against Falkirk over the weekend.
As of this moment, he holds the main striker card, but who will O’Neill view as the main number nine going forward?
Bundesliga commentator Rae interestingly claimed that Adamu is probably going to be the main striker because he is ‘more flexible’ than Cvancara, as he told Premier Sports.
Michael Stewart: “If you wanted to put your neck on the line. Who do you think Celtic would view as the starter up top, between Adamu and Cvancara?”
Derek Rae: “It’s a good question because I know both players very well. I watched Cvancara at Gladbach. They are different types.
“Cvancara had his problems at Gladbach. I am not sure how well documented they have been in Scotland so far. But he wasn’t the most popular player in the dressing room, but there is a player there.
“I think, for the most part, I might put my money more on Adamu, to be honest. I think he gives you a little bit more in terms of dimensions. Pace. Somebody who is a bit more flexible.
“But Cvancara has his role as well. It’s intriguing to see these two Bundesliga players ending up at Celtic, and playing a big part in the title race.”

Could Cvancara and Adamu play together at Celtic?
Another option for Celtic could be to play the duo together. Yes, Yang has done well on the right flank for Celtic, but there are still question marks over his head.
Adamu can operate on the right flank, and Rae thinks the loanee from Freiburg and Cvancara can also operate in the same XI.
Alan Hutton: “Could Adamu and Cvancara play together?”
Rae: “I think they could, yes. They could be complementary types. Depending on the set-up. That’s something that could happen, with Cvancara maybe a bit more central and Adamu wide.
“But I suppose they both have flexibility in their make-ups.”
