Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong tells ICE agents to quit at pre-Super Bowl show

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong used a pre-Super Bowl LX concert to urge Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to resign from their positions.

During a performance at a Spotify and FanDuel-sponsored party in San Francisco on Friday night, Armstrong addressed ICE agents from the stage at the invitation-only event at Pier 29 on the Embarcadero.

“To all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are, quit your s—– a– job,” Armstrong said. “Quit that s—– job you have. Because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad f—— habit. Come on this side of the line.”

The performance came two days before the Super Bowl.

Armstrong made additional political statements throughout the show. While performing “Holiday,” he changed a lyric from “the representative from California has the floor” to “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor.” He dedicated the song to Minneapolis.

Armstrong also altered lyrics in “American Idiot,” singing “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda” instead of the original line, continuing a practice he has maintained for years.

Green Day is scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl LX pre-game ceremony, where the band will usher generations of Super Bowl MVPs onto the field. The game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots begins at 6:30 p.m.

Charlie Puth will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” while Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Beautiful” and Coco Jones will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Bad Bunny will headline the halftime show. Turning Point USA is promoting a competing halftime show featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett and Lee Brice.
