‘Showtime at the Apollo’ host Kiki Shepard dead at 74: ‘We really lost a cultural icon’

Kiki Shepard, known for her stint on “Showtime at the Apollo,” died unexpectedly Monday at 74.
Shepard’s representative LaShirl Smith told TMZ the former host suffered a massive heart attack in Los Angeles.
She appeared on “Showtime at the Apollo” from 1987 to 2002, along with Steve Harvey.
Shepard, who was born Chiquita Renee Shepard and was known as the “Apollo Queen of Fashion,” spent 15 years on the show and also co-hosted with Sinbad, Mo’Nique and more.
According to the report, she appeared on shows including “A Different World,” “Baywatch,” “Baywatch Nights,” “NYPD Blue,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and more.
