Huntsville takes flight: Allegiant Air launches new Orlando service

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Despite warmer weather here in the valley, dozens of people packed into Huntsville International for a trip down South!
The first Allegiant Air flight from Huntsville to Orlando Sanford International Airport took off on Thursday.
Excited passengers packed their bags and headed to the airport for the inaugural flight.
And we even got a look inside the jet before take off!
Airport officials say they’re excited to offer more options to their customers.
“This is going to give us two more days during the week that folks can fly to Orlando nonstop from Huntsville. It gives them a second airline to choose from. We already have nonstop flights on Breeze. We’re really excited about the competitiveness in the fares and the availability of more flights for our customers here,” Mary Swanstrom said.
And this is just one of many Allegiant routes coming to Huntsville International.
Direct flights to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport and Gulf Shores start May 21st.
