MILAN — Earlier this week, on a temporary practice rink inside an air-conditioned tent, a tiny but powerful 42-year-old woman worked on letting herself be thrown almost seven feet in the air. Her blades made a whoosh as she cut through the tent’s white light. At one point, she appeared to be on the verge of crashing onto the ice, only to be grabbed at the last second by the hands of her skating partner.
