BREAKING: K-State fires Jerome Tang

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – K-State fired head men’s basketball coach Jerome Tang. The Field of 68 was the first to report on Sunday. 13 SPORTS has requested comment from K-State.

Sources tell 13 SPORTS that Tang met with K-State director of athletics Gene Taylor on Sunday morning. A decision regarding Tang’s future with the Wildcats was made immediately after.

KSU is in the midst of a 6-game losing streak and is 1-11 in Big 12 play. K-State has not qualified for the NCAA Tournament since Tang’s 1st season as head coach in 2023. Tang led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight and was named Naismith Coach of the Year.

K-State went 71-57 during Tang’s 128 game tenure as head coach.
