A massive 80s soap star boasts a very famous father and daughter, both of whom have also graced the same show.
On Tuesday’s This Morning, presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary chatted with Jason Donovan ahead of his forthcoming tour.
Jason, 57, shot to stardom in Neighbours during the 80s, portraying Scott Robinson from 1986 to 1989. He made a brief return for a guest appearance alongside former co-star, Kylie Minogue, who played Charlene Robinson, in 2022.
After Neighbours, Jason embarked on a successful music career, boasting an impressive four UK No. 1 singles and his album, Ten Good Reasons, was the top-selling album in the UK in 1989.
Jason is also recognised for his roles in musical theatre, such as securing the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the early 1990s and The Rocky Horror Show in 1998, reports the Mirror.

During Tuesday’s This Morning, hosts Alison and Dermot discussed Jason’s famous father, Terence Donovan.
Legendary Australian actor, Terence, 90, is renowned for his roles as Senior Detective Mick Peters in Division 4, Detective Sgt. Vic Cameron in Cop Shop, Al Simpson in Home and Away and his long-standing role in Neighbours as Doug Willis.
Terence portrayed Doug Willis in Neighbours intermittently from 1990, making his last appearance on the soap, which sadly concluded in 2025, in 2022.
However, Jason isn’t the only family member to have graced Neighbours, as his daughter Jemma Donovan featured in the Australian soap between 2019 and 2022 playing Harlow Robinson. The 25 year old subsequently secured a part in Hollyoaks as Rayne Royce from 2023 to 2024.

Speaking about his renowned father on Tuesday’s This Morning, whom Dermot described as ‘such a legend’, Jason revealed: “He’s 91 this year, he’s a big part of my life.”
Jason reflected: “My parents split when I was five, my dad got custody of me in 1972.”
He continued: “My childhood was being on film sets and in TV studios and theatres. He’s played a big part of my life.”

The performer went on to explain: “I mean, the word nepotism is… I’m not quite sure how I judge that whole debate at the moment. It’s [acting and performing] is what I knew. Growing up, you know, with my dad I’d be learning lines with him before he went [and filmed].”
Dermot responded: “What else were you going to end up doing? That’s what you grew up in, right?”.
