The grand finale of figure skating with the Gala on 21 February 2026

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the magic of figure skating will light up the Milano Ice Skating Arena one final time with the highly anticipated Closing Gala. One of the last opportunities to experience the atmosphere of the Games live, this special evening promises emotion, celebration and an unforgettable performance.
The Gala is one of the most anticipated and engaging events of the Olympic ice program. It is not a competition, but an artistic performance where the stars of the previous weeks, medal winners and athletes who have won the hearts of the public, return to the rink with creative and surprising performances.
Original costumes, breathtaking choreography, rare moments of connection between champions from different nations transform the evening into a truly international spectacle in a festive atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to witness the absolute excellence of figure skating in a single evening.
A special guest: Carolina Kostner
Olympic bronze medalist in individual figure skating and Ambassador of Milano Cortina 2026, Carolina Kostner will open the Gala with a new, innovative artistic performance. Her approach is to share a meaningful story and inspire young athletes, and others, to pursue and cultivate their dreams.
We hope young skaters will see a message in it, that it’s important to have fun, not just focus on performance.
A lineup still to be discovered
To date, there is no official list of participants for the Gala, and that’s precisely what makes this event so unique. The group of participants is only finalized at the end of the competitions, when all the medals have been awarded and the results are complete. Traditionally, medalists across all disciplines and the athletes who have provided the most iconic moments during figure skating competitions take part in the Gala. Official confirmations, as usual, will only be made after the competitions have concluded.
The Italian Enchantment towards the Olympic Gala
The 2026 Gala will be particularly special for the Italian public. The Italian national team achieved its first Olympic podium in the team event, a historic bronze medal featuring Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri, Sara Conti and Niccolò Macii, Daniel Grassl, Matteo Rizzo, and Lara Naki Gutmann. This historic result raises expectations for possible Italian performances during the Gala.
Guignard and Fabbri previously captivated the audience at the Beijing 2022 Gala with their intense performance. Their possible return on home ice at Milano Cortina 2026 would symbolically connect two Olympic editions while opening a new chapter in front of an Italian crowd.
An event not to be missed
Experiencing the Gala in Milan means witnessing a moment of history, in a venue destined to continue shining long after the Olympic Games. A spectacular and unrepeatable evening, symbolically closing all the skating competitions on the eve of the Closing Ceremony: the final embrace between athletes and spectators, the last thrill before the Olympic lights fade at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.
It is the last, unique opportunity to experience firsthand the energy of the arena, the sound of blades carving the ice, and the shared emotion that defines the Olympic spirit. The last tickets to attend one of the most fascinating events of the entire Olympic program are still available through the official Milano Cortina 2026 website.
