Melissa McCarthy and her dad get a long great, but after she poked fun at him for an injury, the universe stepped in and gave her the same injury!

The “Bridesmaids” star was on Thursday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” where she revealed she broke her finger while making fun of her dad for breaking his own finger.
“My dad — who is wonderful, very feisty, moves quickly — he fell and hurt himself a little bit but didn’t go to the doctor, which I’m like, ‘That’s what you want to do at 86,’” she said during her interview. “And then all of a sudden, seven days later he’s like, ‘Does this seem okay to you?’ And I was like, ‘Your clearly broken finger?’”
But then, as she was explaining her dad’s injury to a cousin, she had her own accident.
“I was talking to my cousin, and I was lovingly giving my dad a hard time because I’m like, ‘He’s always gotta go 100 miles an hour! He’s gotta do this! He’s gotta do that!’” she shared. “I’m doing it, I slammed my hand into the base of the table I was sitting at and fractured my finger.”

During the episode, McCarthy shared a photo of her and her dad wearing matching finger casts on their broken middle fingers.

Her dad went for hand surgery, and McCarthy joked that while in the doctor’s office, “I was like ‘I’m not trying to get free medical advice, but I think I have jacked up my finger.’ And then he took an X-ray and said, ‘Yeah, you fractured it. Good job.’”
