Police say there are no life-threatening injuries after a coach bus crashed on Highway 401 Sunday night east of Napanee, Ont.

Officers were alerted just after 7:15 p.m. that a bus carrying about 50 people had rolled onto its side, Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Erin Cranton said in an email to CBC News.

Emergency services have been at the scene, helping anyone who was on board the bus, Cranton said.

As of 8:45 p.m., the highway’s eastbound lanes were closed between County Road 4 and County Road 6.

Drivers should avoid the area and expect delays, Cranton said.

Slippery conditions were reported in the area at the time of the crash, police said.
