Canadian lottery player to take home millions after weekend win

It was a very lucky weekend for one Canadian lottery player who managed to score millions in the Lotto 6/49 draw.

The most recent lottery draw was on Saturday, Feb. 21, and the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Prize winning numbers were 03, 09, 30, 33, 37, and 43, and bonus 49. Someone in Ontario matched all six numbers and won the Classic Draw Prize worth $5 million.

Two winners also matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus, splitting the second prize. They’ll each receive $105,865.90 after purchasing their tickets in Ontario. The third prize will be shared by 81 lottery players across the country, who will each take home $1,097.60.

No one won the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball jackpot worth $34 million, but someone in Quebec did win the $1-million White Ball Prize after they matched the winning numbers 65044425-01.

In B.C., no one won the $500,000-Lotto 6/49 Extra prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.

The last time someone scored the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize was when home-care aide Cora Cuthbert from Kisbey, Sask., won $18 million in the Jan. 7 draw.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and the Gold Ball is now worth $36 million.

There was a $60-million Lotto Max jackpot up for grabs during the draw on Friday, Feb. 20. Although no one won the top prize, someone from Ontario won the second prize worth $237,235.80. The third prize will be split between 41 people, who’ll each receive $5,786.20.

There were also six Maxmillions prizes to be won, each worth $1 million. However, no one won a Maxmillions prize. Similarly, in B.C., there were no winners for the Lotto 6/49 Extra prize worth $500,000, and in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.

The last time someone won a jackpot was on Jan. 20, when someone from Ontario won $15 million.

The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and the jackpot is worth $65 million. There are also eight Maxmillions prizes to be won.
