WashU sends emergency alert for armed person

At 9:19 a.m. Washington University Emergency services sent an alert urging students on campus to run, hide, and barricade themselves until further notice. There has been a heavy police presence near Brookings Quad after reports of an armed person. 

WashU sent another alert at 9:35 a.m. that police are checking buildings near Brookings Hall after “receiving reports of a person with a weapon.” At 9:53, WashU said police are still on the scene near Brookings and other Danforth Campus buildings, and urged students to remain sheltered in place.
