The Bride! takes place in 1930s Chicago as a lonely Frankenstein asks Dr. Euphronious (Bening) to create a companion for him. Together, they revive a murdered young woman known as “The Bride.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal also produces alongside Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler, and Osnat Handelsman Keren. The executive producers are Carla Raij, David Webb, and Courtney Kivowitz.
Warner Bros. is set to release The Bride! in theaters on March 6 across the United States.

At CinemaCon last year, Gyllenhaal explained why she followed up The Lost Daughter with The Bride! saying she was looking for “something pop and big and I wanted it to be radical at the same time. I was at this party and saw this guy with the Bride of Frankenstein tattooed on his arm… It hooked me…”
“In the original, the bride is in the movie for about three minutes and doesn’t speak, which could not be more different than ours,” she added. “I’m really interested in monsters, and I think that all of us have a little aspect of something monstrous in us. Monsters in our movie do monstrous things, but they’re also our heroes.”
