The Suns (34-26) trailed by double digits in the third quarter before their bench came alive. Phoenix’s bench outscored the Lakers’ 31-0 in the quarter to flip the script of the game.
The Lakers (34-24) fought back in the fourth quarter, led by Luka Doncic’s 41 points and Lebron James 15, including a tip-in to tie the game with 22.7 seconds remaining.
That’s when Grayson Allen drove to the hoop and kicked the ball to Collin Gillespie in the corner, who made one more pass to the wide-open O’Neale to sink the game-winner.
The shot gave O’Neale 13 points, third on the team behind Allen’s team-high 28 and Gillespie’s 21. It also gave Allen his team-high sixth assist.
The win gave the Suns the season-series win (3-1) over the Lakers, with one game remaining between the Western Conference foes in April.
Phoenix won in L.A. to open the series in December 2025 before losing at home in mid-December. Now, the Suns have won the last two matchups.
