- The Manchester-based act will now go by Kylie Wears Berghaus.
- Kylie Goes Berghain has changed their name after the storied Berlin club threatened legal action.
The Manchester-based Kylie Minogue dance music edits project broke the news on Instagram today, February 26th, revealing that they’ve changed their name to Kylie Wears Berghaus in response.
“After receiving a gentle threat of legal action, we’re dropping the word Berghain from our name,” the post read. “When we came up with the name, Kylie Goes Berghain was just a fun idea to play all the great Kylie remixes out there.”
Named after the 2012 white label of the same name, Kylie Goes Berghain has performed at The DBA in Manchester, Headrow House in Leeds and Venue MOT in London since launching in 2024. Their sets are now made up entirely of their own edits of the Australian pop favourite.
“The name has carried us from the beginnings of an idea to something completely different and much bigger than we ever could’ve anticipated, and was probably due an even sillier upgrade anyway,” the post continued. “Welcome to phase two.”
It’s not the first time that Berghain has reached out to a UK artist with trademark concerns. Christopher Wright—the Bristol-based illustrator behind the brand Turbo Island—recently revealed that he was forced to discontinue a run of Berghain stickers using the logo of the outdoor clothing brand Berghaus after being “told off” by the club. (Resident Advisor has reached out to Berghain for comment.)
