Bunes (14-8 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has traded wins and losses over his past few outings, and looks to get back into the win column following a unanimous decision loss to Rafael Estevam last August. Prior to that setback, he secured a first-round submission victory over Jose Johnson last January.
Chairez (12-6 MMA, 2-2 UFC) aims to notch back-to-back wins for the first time since 2023. Last March, the Mexican flyweight submitted CJ Vergara in the first round, winning a Performance of the Night bonus for the finish.

Serving as another solid action fight at flyweight is a matchup between Edgar Chairez and Felipe Bunes.
Looking like the lovechild of Alex Pereira and one of the Sicarios from “Breaking Bad,” Chairez’s 100 percent finish rate certainly fits the part of a certified killer when it comes to competing in the cage.
Bunes is a talented Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, but the 36-year-old has a propensity to fade as fights wear on. Couple that with the fact that Chairez is the more skilled striker with solid some grappling chops of his own, and it’s hard not to favor the younger man this weekend.
I’ll officially forecast Chairez to survive some early grappling scares en route to a stoppage via strikes late into Round 2.
