Disney Wastes No Time Removing Aerosmith Branding from Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Disney has moved quickly to begin transforming Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster following its closure last night. Crews have already removed Aerosmith’s name from the marquee and the iconic Stratocaster guitar, with construction walls now surrounding the red guitar structure.

The attraction closed on March 1, 2026, and will reopen in summer 2026 as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Construction walls have been erected around the 40-foot red Stratocaster that has marked the attraction entrance since 1999. The Aerosmith name has been removed from both the building marquee and the guitar itself.

An Aerosmith poster that hung on the exterior has been covered.

Courtyard Access Temporarily Limited

The gate to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster courtyard was closed early in the day, reopened around 9:45am to allow access to Sunset Showcase, where the Disney Villains show is playing.

A sign at the entrance reads: “We’re Moving Right Along. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is currently closed as we load in the band!”

The message references the Muppets’ signature song “Movin’ Right Along” from The Muppet Movie.

Fast Transition Timeline

The ride system and track will remain unchanged when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens this summer. Updates will focus on theming, music, storyline, and visual elements including the Stratocaster guitar, which will receive a new Muppets-inspired color scheme.

Work is expected to continue throughout the spring as Disney prepares the attraction for its summer 2026 reopening.
