Pixar continues resurgence with release of ‘Hoppers’ | Review
Pixar has shown signs of a creative resurgence in recent years with “Inside Out 2” and “Elio.” That continues with the sci-fi comedy “Hoppers.”
Movie theaters across the country are rolling out collectible popcorn buckets and themed merchandise to celebrate the release of Pixar’s new animated film “Hoppers,” which arrives in theaters March 6.
Major theater chains including AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark are offering limited-edition concessions tied to characters from the film, part of a growing trend of promotional movie merchandise aimed at fans and collectors.
AMC Theatres ‘Hoppers’ popcorn bucket
At AMC Theatres, moviegoers can purchase a Tom Lizard-themed popcorn bucket and a “Hoppers” drink cup topped with a mystery character topper. The popcorn bucket is a black tin decorated with an all-over lizard print featuring the film’s logo, with a Tom Lizard figure attached to the side.
AMC is also offering an additional collectible promotion tied to premium showings. Guests who see “Hoppers” in Dolby Cinema on March 7 will receive a free mystery keychain featuring one of three characters from the film: Tom Lizard, King George or Mabel.
Regal Cinemas ‘Hoppers’ merch
Regal Cinemas is offering a themed snack pack combo that includes a collectible 16-ounce cup, a character topper and a matching tray. Regal Crown Club members who attend a 4DX screening on March 7 will also receive a free crown modeled after the one worn by King George in the film.
Cinemark
Cinemark locations are introducing a fun-sized combo featuring a popcorn bucket decorated with characters from “Hoppers” along with a themed drink cup. The chain will also sell a 16-ounce tumbler featuring characters Mabel and Tom Lizard.
