Nancy Guthrie Glove DNA: Lead Doesn’t Pan Out
As the search for Nancy Guthrie moves forward, one lead that seemed promising earlier in the week didn’t work out. According to Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos, the DNA on a glove that was found near the scene was traced back to a person who works at a nearby restaurant and “has nothing to do with the case.”
“The owner of the glove, we found working at a restaurant across the street. It has nothing to do with the case,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Tucson news station KVOA.
“We knew that at that time, we believed wholeheartedly that those gloves belonged to a restaurant and guess what? The owner of the glove, we found working at a restaurant across the street,” Nanos added during the interview.
The sheriff’s department also took to X on March 4 to stated that the individual is “not part of this investigation.”
Officials previously said the gloves appeared to look like the same gloves worn by a man whom the FBI has called a suspect in the case after he was spotted in surveillance footage at Nancy Guthrie’s home. On Feb. 13, authorities sent the gloves off for testing at a private Florida laboratory, and the DNA analysis results came back just this week showing the gloves aren’t related to the case.
