Eagles, DT Jordan Davis agree to three-year, $78 million contract extension

It’s a monster deal for a defensive lineman who has given a monster effort since joining the Eagles as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 draft.
A rotational player during his rookie campaign, Davis has started 17 games in each of the past three seasons, helping the team to two top-five finishes in points allowed during that span. He’s stout against the run — sporting a 71.6 PFF run defense grade, 11th among interior defenders — but also possesses a terrifying dose of speed for a 6-foot-6, 336-pounder.
Davis has made 162 tackles over four seasons, with 15 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits, 10 passes defensed and eight sacks. He tacked on two more postseason sacks amid the Eagles’ march to a Lombardi Trophy during the 2024 campaign, one in the NFC Championship Game and another in Super Bowl LIX.
By extending Davis, Philly has taken the first step in securing its fearsome twosome on the inside. Davis’ partner in the trenches, Jalen Carter is eligible for an extension but could also see his fifth-year rookie option picked up this offseason, similar to the path Davis took before cashing in a year later.
That’s a checklist item for another day, though.
For now, Davis is locked down as the Eagles attempt to return to the mountaintop after being toppled during the 2025 season.
