Refreshed 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Debuts, Kills Voyager Minivan In The Process

Chrysler has been suffering from a dearth of new product for what feels like forever. In recent years, its entire lineup has consisted of just two models: the Pacifica minivan and a cheaper version with a different front fascia wearing the Voyager nameplate. Now one of those is gone.

This week the Stellantis brand unveiled the details of a refreshed 2027 Pacifica, and the Voyager has quietly disappeared in the process. Rather than having a separate model serving as the base trim, the lineup now starts, again, with a revived Pacifica LX trim. It carries a starting price of $41,495, or just $100 more than the 2026 Voyager it effectively replaces. This marks the second time the Voyager nameplate has disappeared, at least from the US. The first was in 2003. The nameplate then resurfaced for the 2020 model year as part of the Pacifica lineup.
2027 Pacifica’s Updates On The Mild Side

The current Pacifica has been on sale since the 2017 model year and was given its first refresh for 2021 (with the older design retained for the Voyager base trim). The latest update keeps what works while adding a more modern front-end design and new wheel and color options. That new design, which includes an updated Chrysler wing badge formed with LEDs, is reserved for the more upscale Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims, which in some cases start below their 2026 equivalents. The base LX trim retains the outgoing styling.

The 2027 Pacifica continues to seat seven or eight passengers and retains the brand’s exclusive Stow ’n Go seating system, allowing second- and third-row seats to fold flat into the floor for instant cargo space. A new adjustable-height power liftgate now comes standard across all trims, making loading easier for drivers of all heights.
Even in the entry-level LX trim, the Pacifica is well-equipped. Standard features include handy items like power sliding doors, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. The LX trim still only comes with front-wheel drive, like the outgoing Voyager, whereas all other trims can be upgraded with all-wheel drive for an extra $3,345. An available Safety Sphere Package includes a blind-spot camera that activates when using the turn signal and a system that automatically turns on backup cameras when parking.

Another key change for 2027 is the separation of entertainment and tech options, enabling buyers to more easily choose the features they want, such as built-in Amazon Fire TV, an interior camera for monitoring passengers, upgraded audio, and extra power outlets for the second and third rows.

Chrysler hasn’t said anything about the 2027 Pacifica’s powertrain. The outgoing version packs a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, and paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This setup will most likely carry over unchanged for the 2027 model. Notably, the Pacifica Hybrid is dead, following a broader culling of PHEV models across the Stellantis group in America.

Chrysler earlier in March received a new CEO in the form of Dodge boss Matt McAlear, who will retain his duties at Stellantis’ muscle car brand in addition to running Alfa Romeo. He hasn’t said what he has in store for Chrysler, but his predecessor, Chris Fuell, who Stellantis said stepped down for “personal reasons,” had as recently as a year ago confirmed plans for some new models.

One of those was a sedan-like model inspired by the sleek Halcyon concept unveiled in 2024. Another was a large SUV, potentially with third-row seats. Chrysler had also previously indicated that an electric Pacifica was planned. However, given the ongoing shakeup at Stellantis following the replacement of CEO Carlos Tavares by Antonio Filosa last year, it’s entirely possible those plans have been revised – similar to how Chrysler last year canceled an electric midsize SUV based on the 2022 Airflow concept at the last minute.

Order books for the 2027 Pacifica are already open, and first deliveries are scheduled for the summer. Production is handled at Stellantis’ Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada.
