With the opening three episodes of Last One Laughing now available to binge-watch, here’s everything you need to know about Amy Gledhill.

TV work
Audiences may recognise Gledhill from numerous popular programmes including the fourth series of Netflix’s Sex Education where she portrayed the beautician who waxed Joanna (Lisa McGrillis).
The 38-year-old has also appeared in minor roles in programmes such as Alma’s Not Normal, Somewhere Boy, Life, as well as Netflix’s thriller Run Away as DC Ruby Todd.
Beyond these, Gledhill penned and starred in Channel 4’s short film Toads two years ago and was amongst the 2026 cast for the celebrity reality programme Taskmaster.

Loss
Just days before Last One Laughing series two launched on Prime Video, Gledhill revealed the “heartbreaking” loss of her father.
On Friday, March 13, she shared a collection of photographs of her dad, accompanied by a tribute: “I felt lucky every day to be his daughter and I felt lucky to be with him at the end.
“He was embarrassingly supportive of me. Gave me a one man standing ovation the first time he saw me do stand up. (It was my fourth gig and I was as bad as you’d expect.)
“He became a regular at gigs and I’m so pleased he met so many comics, friends and lovely people I work with.”

She added: “He was heartbreakingly sentimental, the most generous guy in the pub, a proper hard worker, a great singer, incredible on the dance floor and he was cracking jokes and making us laugh right until the end.
“I’ll miss him so much. A genuine legend.”
Little information is available about the comedian’s private life, though it’s not thought she is presently in a relationship, having created the podcast Single Ladies In Your Area alongside fellow comedian Harriet Kemsley.
Mental health
In 2026, Gledhill took on the role of patron for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, aiming to introduce “approachable humour” to discussions surrounding mental health.
When her appointment as patron was announced, Gledhill remarked: “I’ve always believed that supporting your mental health is as important as supporting Hull City – and in both cases, sometimes you really need someone to lean on.
“If I can help even one person feel a bit less alone by talking about the tough stuff (and maybe making them laugh along the way), then I’m all in.”
Last One Laughing is available to watch on Prime Video.
