Flooding, damage reported across Oahu as heavy rain overwhelms already-saturated ground

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii News Now is tracking a Kona low as it moves over Hawaii.
First Alert Weather Days are in effect through Sunday due to the threat of heavy rain and flash flooding.

The city has issued an evacuation order for the Waialua and Haleiwa areas due to “extremely dangerous flooding” and rising water levels at the Wahiawa Dam.

Severe flooding occurred across the island Friday morning from Kahaluu in Windward Oahu to Kaimuki.
A landslide was reported in Kaneohe, near the intersection of Kalanianaole and Pali highways, and rockfalls were reported on Kamehameha Highway, north of Kipapa Bridge in Mililani.
The city urges residents to avoid being on the roads if possible, as there are reports of hazardous road conditions in numerous locations.
Treat all malfunctioning traffic signals as four-way stops.
