Latest development has things looking gloomy for Hubert Davis’ future at UNC

As we all expected, there wasn’t much new information that has emerged in the topic of Hubert Davis’ future as the head coach of the UNC basketball program.

With the women’s basketball team hosting its second round matchup at Carmichael Arena (a game they won to advance to the Sweet 16!), it always felt likely that North Carolina would wait to provide any new information regarding the current head coach of the Tar Heels.

Well, this latest development makes things look a little more gloomy for Davis, another sign pointing toward him no longer coaching UNC moving forward.

If you were planning on attending “Hubert Davis Live”…

North Carolina hosts a weekly radio show with Davis, fittingly named the “Hubert Davis Live” radio show.

Monday night was supposed to be the scheduled season finale of the show (as is typical when the current season comes to a close), but Jones Angell, the voice of the Tar Heels and the guy who saves us from having to listen to broadcasters such as Cory Alexander, shared an important update about the scheduled program.

Angell took to social media to announce that the final regular season show was “postponed.” He did advise that they would advise if any future scheduling updates come along.

What does this mean?

Angell, who is a very nice human being, used the word postponed to put it nicely. I think we all can agree that there won’t be a re-scheduled program, as it’s likely that this move was made due to the current circumstances.

While it doesn’t necessarily mean that a decision is imminent, it’s not a surprise to see the university postpone this show to avoid putting Davis in a very uncomfortable spot.

This serves as just another sign of the likely things to come, as this decision makes it seem like there will be some type of formal announcement made in the near future, one that is expected to officially end the Hubert Davis era in Chapel Hill.
