We have some interesting news within the Montreal Canadiens organization, on offense.
The Laval Rocket have just announced a new signing. The organization has officially agreed to terms on a contract with young forward Josh Nadeau.
As confirmed by the team on social media, it is a one-year, one-way deal valid for the 2025-2026 season.
This signing adds solid depth to the Canadiens’ farm team offense.
Nadeau, a player known for his quick hands and vision, has just completed an impressive stint with the University of Maine Black Bears in the NCAA.
He previously dominated in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), recording over 100 points in a single season.

Since this is a contract strictly tied to the American Hockey League, Josh Nadeau still cannot join the NHL roster.
He also does not count toward the NHL’s 50-contract limit for Kent Hughes.
This one-way deal simply means he will earn the same guaranteed salary whether he plays in Laval or is assigned to the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL.
For management, this is a zero-risk addition that allows them to evaluate a young talent directly within the organization.
If the undersized forward can translate his offensive touch to the pro level, nothing will stop the Canadiens from offering him a full NHL contract later on.
It will be very interesting to follow how this undrafted player adapts when he hits the ice at Place Bell.
Josh Nadeau, 22, is a 5-foot-8 forward from New Brunswick who went undrafted in the NHL.
Also note that he is the brother of Bradly Nadeau of the Carolina Hurricanes.
