Watch Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s neighborhood get terrorized by dinosaurs

“Mom, what’s happening to us?” is a terrifying way to start a movie trailer.
And that’s exactly how the trailer for Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s new sci-fi movie, “The End of Oak Street,” begins. A young boy, played by Christian Convery, asks the question, to which his mom, played by Hathaway, responds, “I think our house, our neighborhood, our whole street has moved.”

Sure enough, the next shot shows the family, sitting in their car, overlooking a cliff where their suburban street has been cut off and is now next to an entirely different setting filled with trees and lush greenery.
Over a black screen, we then hear, “Oh my god, run!” And next thing we know, the kids are running from a dinosaur.

The synopsis reads, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”
The movie’s title could have two meanings here. Sure, the family drives to what is now the end of Oak Street. But with dinosaurs terrorizing the neighborhood, is it also the end of Oak Street as they know it?

The film also stars Maisy Stella, known for her starring role alongside Aubrey Plaza in “My Old Ass,” and is directed by David Robert Mitchell. Sci-fi legend J.J. Abrams produced the movie. “The End of Oak Street” will be released in August.
