The day hundreds of people joined Russell Crowe on a Pembrokeshire beach

In 2009, the famed actor filmed some of the battle scenes from 2010’s Robin Hood, directed by Ridley Scott, on Freshwater West beach.
Hundreds of people, including some Pembrokeshire residents, were used for the scenes, as well as dozens of horses.
Filming, according to our nostalgia group Our Pembrokeshire Memories, took five weeks and during this time Mr Crowe was seen having a meal at a pub in Carew, and showed his generosity by signing a picture, and reportedly leaving a guitar and leaving staff with a £400 tip.
