As we prepare for the Easter bank holiday weekend, some of us might change our usual routines if we’re lucky enough to get an extra day or two off work. But we aren’t the only ones changing our routine, as ITV has also scheduled in some major changes to Coronation Street and Emmerdale ahead of the Easter weekend.
It’s been a dramatic time in both soaps, but things are only getting more tense as we head into April. Soap fans have had to deal with multiple schedule changes and cancelled episodes over the past few weeks.
Both soaps have been cancelled tomorrow (Tuesday, March 31) and an extra episode has been added onto the TV guide on Sunday.
Soap fans will miss out on the drama in Yorkshire as well as in Weatherfield on Tuesday due to sports coverage on ITV1. The broadcast of England vs Japan begins at 7pm, ready for a 7.45pm kick-off-time live from Wembley.
The coverage ends at 10.05pm, which means Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been scrapped.
But that isn’t the only shake-up to this week’s schedule, as there are a couple more changes soap fans should be aware of. Wednesday’s episodes are scheduled as normal, at 8pm and 8.30pm.
But on Thursday, the soaps have been brought forward half-an-hour, with Emmerdale at 7.30pm and Corrie at 8pm. This is followed by a repeat of Vera at 8.30pm until 10.25pm.
The same applies for Friday with Emmerdale at 7.30pm, Coronation Street at 8pm and Vera at 8.30pm.
Here is the full schedule for Coronation Street and Emmerdale this week amid changes:
