Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized During Broadway Production of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’

Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized after falling ill during the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York City on Tuesday night.

According to a statement from a representative of Megan provided to Complex, the Houston rapper began feeling “very ill” in the middle of the show and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff are currently evaluating her symptoms.

“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” the statement read. “We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

Loren LoRosa, who said she was at the show, tweeted she came to see Megan on Broadway and “that was short lived.”

“Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived,” she wrote. “The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..”stay inside and seated” I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us “for now, we’ll update you if anything changes”

LoRosa added that Megan was “removed for the night” with “no explanation as to why.”

“Milan rouge on Broadway has removed Meg the stallion for the night (no explanation as to why) … Announcement just came on in the theatre .. they have removed Meg Thee Stallion from the show as Zidler for the rest of the night,” she wrote in a separate tweet.

Megan Thee Stallion’s hairstylist Kellon Deryck took to social media asking for prayers for the 31-year-old rapper.

“Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,” he wrote.

It’s unclear what caused the sudden health issue or how it may impact upcoming performances.

Megan made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge earlier this month, becoming the first female performer to play Zidler in the hit musical. The rapper was expected to perform in the show for eight weeks.
