Howard’s prediction: Yakhyaev makes short work of Ribeiro.

Hot off the heels of a performance for the record books, red-hot prospect Abdul-Rakhman Yakhyaev sets his sights on Brendson Ribeiro.

UFC odds currently have Yakhyaev is a massive favorite at -1400 while Ribeiro is a +730 underdog. Ribeiro figures to last longer than 33 seconds, but there isn’t much to suggest he’ll be able to derail Yakhyaev.

Fight Prediction

Yakhyaev to win (-1250)

Bet now at

Yakhyaev only needed 33 seconds to score six takedowns and a submission win over Rafael Cerqueria in his last fight, and he’s going up against an opponent with a horrible 18% takedown defense. Ribeiro is coming off consecutive first-round stoppage losses and can’t avoid hitting the mat.

Yakhaev is being slotted in this position for another showcase performance, and Ribeiro is the right kind of opponent to do just that.

Best bet

Yakhyaev To Win by KO/TKO/DQ (-120)

Bet now at

Three of Ribeiro’s losses have come by stoppage, and he doesn’t have the defense or damage threshold to make this competitive.

We’ve seen Yakhyaev explode from the start, maul his opponents, and strafe them with strikes. How this fight makes it out of the first round would be some sort of miracle.

Expect Yakhyaev to push the fight from the start, get Ribeiro in a bad spot on the mat, and pound him out for a knockout win. Yakhyaev by knockout is my best bet.

COVERS INTEL: As fast as the 33-second submission was, Yakhyaev doesn’t crack the top ten.
