UPDATE: Highways 17 and 101 both back open

The two highways, along with Highway 129, had been closed since Thursday night due to weather
3:15 p.m. update
Highway 101 and Highway 17 are both open once again per Ontario 511.
12:15 p.m. update
Highway 129 is now fully open according to Ontario 511
9:55 a.m. update
According to Ontario 511, Highway 101 is now closed between the Highway 17 junction in Wawa and the Highway 129 junction in Chapleau.
Highway 129 is now closed from the Highway 101 junction in Chapleau to the Highway 667 junction.
Friday 8:15 a.m. update
According to Ontario 511, Highway 17 is now closed between the OPP detachment in Wawa and the Highway 563 junction in Batchawana Bay.
Meanwhile, Highway 101 is now closed between the Highway 17 junction in Wawa and the Highway 144 junction west of Timmins.

Weather conditions have forced several highways to be closed in the region on Thursday evening.
According to Ontario 511, Highway 17 is closed between the OPP detachment in Wawa and the MTO weigh scales in Heyden.
Highway 101 is closed between Highway 17 junction in Wawa and the Highway 7072 junction in Foleyet.
Highway 129 is closed between the Highway 101 junction in Chapleau and the Highway 554 junction in Wharncliffe.
