Roth Tied For Third, Lehigh Sixth After Day One at Irish Creek

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Lehigh opened Appalachian State’s Irish Creek Intercollegiate with a pair of sub-300 rounds Monday at the Club at Irish Creek. With senior Jake Roth leading the way, the Mountain Hawks carded rounds of 293 and 289 for a total of 582. Lehigh sits in sixth place out of 11 teams in the field.
Roth is part of a seven-way tied for third place at two under par 140. He shot 72 in the morning and three under par 68 in the afternoon, totaling eight birdies, four in each round, on the day. Roth is four strokes behind leader Ilia Antoniadis of Catawba.
Senior Will Caronchi is tied for 27th place at 146 (73-73). Caronchi made two birdies in each of his rounds Monday.
First-year Ryan Cronin shot 148 Monday (75-73) and is tied for 38th place. Cronin made an eagle and a birdie in round one and added three birdies Monday afternoon.
One stroke behind Cronin is junior Matthew Quinn, who is tied for 47th at 149 (73-76). Quinn carded one birdie in each round Monday.
Junior Charles Schrohe is tied for 71st place at 156 (81-75), He totaled three birdies Monday with two coming in his second round.
Competing as an individual, senior Aiden LeBlanc shot 160 (82-78) and sits in 76th place. LeBlanc made one birdie in his second round Monday.
Catawba leads the team standings after day one at 562, eight strokes ahead of Troy, with Old Dominion and host Appalachian State tied for third.
The Irish Creek Intercollegiate concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes featuring a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
