So, what has Hoot been up to in the years since his Voice victory? Ahead of his return for The Voice‘s first-ever All-Star Showdown, check out what Hoot has been doing since first stealing the nation’s heart.
Jake Hoot has written several original songs
While Hoot has yet to release a full album of country hits, he’s gifted fans with several iconic original releases since his Voice tenure. In 2020, in response to the EF4 tornado that hit Cookeville, Tennessee, Hoot released the original song “Tennessee Strong,” releasing an emotional music video and donating the proceeds from the song’s downloads and streams to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund.
Hoot followed that up with a string of must-hear hits, including releases like 2020’s “Dangerous Thing,” “Best Job I Ever Had,” “Nadine,” and “La Bamba” cover with Ricky Duran. In 2021, Hoot released the EP Love Out of Time, which featured the hit duet “I Would’ve Loved You” with his Coach, Kelly Clarkson. In 2022, Hoot released an original duet, “Wherever Time Goes,” with his wife, Brittany, a romantic country ballad that Hoot told Country Now is inspired by time being “a gift” as we age.
“I think, as we get older, we get in such a hurry and such a fast-paced mentality that we tend to let so many precious moments pass us by without even realizing that we let it happen,” Hoot told Country Now while opening up about the track. “I think taking a step back and going, ‘You know what? Time is a gift and being such a special thing as it is, and having somebody special in your life – and the beauty about this song, is it can also be compared to being with your kids too and being happy about the moment – and going, ‘I have so much time left on this earth, and in this life, wherever that time goes, I want it to be with the people I love.’”

Hoot later tantalized country fans with hits like 2022’s “Had It to Lose” and “B4U,” the 2023 singles “Endless” and “I Can Take Care of You.” Hoot also boasts a growing holiday catalogue with hits like “Feliz Navidad,” “It Wouldn’t be Christmas,” “When Christmas Had Come and Gone” with The Tenors, and “Mary’s Boy Child.” In recent years, Hoot has released the 2025 single “Demons” and the 2026 duet “Sometimes I Do” with Becca Bowen.
Jake Hoot has performed across the U.S. and at the Grand Ole Opry
With so much hard work in the recording studio, it’s no surprise that Hoot has taken his talents on the road, touring across the United States on several occasions since seizing the Season 17 crown on The Voice. Amid his thrilling Battle of Champions return, Hoot has actually been spending time on the road, sharing highlights from his performances on social media.
Performing everything from classic country hits and iconic originals and serving up that hallmark charm Voice fans fell in love with, Hoot is set to tour throughout late September 2026, performing in various iconic venues such as the mythic Grand Ole Opry House, a mighty milestone for any country star. Ahead of their return to The Voice stage, Hoot and fellow Team Kelly winners Girl Named Tom connected with crowds in Nashville during a fun-filled set.
