Sam Thompson was heard falling silent on his radio show as he was quizzed about Louis Tomlinson, the new boyfriend of his ex, Zara McDermott.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here winner has recently struck up a new relationship with influencer Talitha Balinska, after his split from long-term partner Zara, who is now dating the former One Direction singer. The pair parted ways at the end of 2024 after six years together. Back in July, former Love Island star Zara was pictured cosying up to Louis at Glastonbury Festival, and later confirmed their relationship in August.
Meanwhile, back in December, Sam shared a photo to his Instagram story, where he was seen smiling whilst cosying up to his new partner during a dinner date, which came after the former Made in Chelsea star confirmed he was officially ‘off the market’ during an episode of his podcast, Staying Relevant, with best pal Pete Wicks.
But Sam was put in a VERY awkward position as he returned to host the Hits Radio Breakfast Show on Thursday (April 9) – where he’s currently covering for Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr – after he invited listeners to ‘Ask Me Anything’

Holly was straight on the phone and asked him live on air: ‘How do you feel about playing the song from One Direction, Steal My Girl, knowing that one of the 1D boys did actually steal your girl.?’
After several seconds of dead air as Sam tried to recover as he said: ‘Holly, I am live on air! How do I feel? First of all, and I mean this when I say it, it’s a brilliant song. I still listen to it on the tube. I know that sounds weird but I listen to it on the tube all the time. I don’t actually feel weird about it because I feel quite happy as long as everyone else is happy.”
He added: “I think everyone has found their person and I think that’s really, really nice. And I’ve actually met said guy and he seems like a really nice dude so I feel pretty good about it to be fair. And it is an absolute banger. Everyone is looking for love you know.”
