Married At First Sight Australia is back on our screens – and, as expected, it’s already delivering chaos, controversy and couples we cannot stop talking about.
The premise? Aussie singles take the ultimate leap by marrying a total stranger, hand-picked for them by a panel of relationship experts. Cameras then follow them as they honeymoon, move in together, and navigate the realities of married life. And with surprise pregnancy announcements and dramatic unaired scenes already surfacing, some of our 2026 brides and grooms are starting to hint at how their relationships turn out. Yes, the drama is well and truly underway.
One of these couples is Joel Moses and Juliette Chae, who joined the experiment late as one of our intruder couples. Juliette was looking for a ‘goofball,’ which saw her matched with Joel, the man who insists he ‘laughs at everything.’ However, their wedding day wasn’t quite as successful as our experts hoped.

Admittedly, Joel and Juliette’s wedding day didn’t get off to the best start. Receptionist Juliette had said she was looking for a man who could make her laugh, however model Joel’s joke-stuffed wedding speech left their fellow _MAFS c_ouples questioning whether he was in the experiment for the right reasons – with Gia Fleur telling cameras, ‘I don’t even know [the bride] and I feel sorry for her.’
Despite their initial connection, Joel’s constant one-liners left Juliette believing he was treating their wedding as more of a ‘joke and a theatrical performance’ than a romantic commitment. The awkwardness continued on their honeymoon, which saw the pair sleep in separate beds as they struggled to connect.
And by the first commitment ceremony, cracks were beginning to show. Juliette was seen telling experts, ‘If I wasn’t part of this experiment, and I just met Joel out, I wouldn’t be proceeding.’
So are Joel and Juliette still together, or was this one relationship destined to fail? With the show airing weeks ahead in Australia, we do know some of the fates of our couples. Warning: spoilers lie down below…

Things took a turn for the worse in their relationship after Juliette became involved in ongoing drama with Bec Zacharia. At the sixth commitment ceremony, Juliette voiced her concerns that Joel hadn’t stood up for her during the fallout. However, when expert Alessandra Rampolla began telling Juliette that Bec’s behaviour was no excuse for her recent use of bad language, Juliette stormed out – branding Joel a ‘dog and a pig’ on the way.
Joel later returned to the couch alone, with the experts praising him for his level-headedness and patience.
The season is still airing, so we’re yet to find out for certain whether or not these two make their way back to each other – but right now, the odds aren’t looking great. The pair don’t appear to be following each other on Instagram, which rarely bodes well…
