Amy Gledhill is one of the newest Taskmaster cast members, with Season 21 of the show set to air tonight.
The 38-year-old will appear alongside Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page, The Thick of It creator Armando Iannucci and Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani, as well as Taskmaster Greg Davies and his assistant, Alex Horne.
But you may recognise her from the latest version of Amazon Prime’s Last One Laughing UK, hosted by Jimmy Carr.
The Sex Education star was joined by the likes of Bob Mortimer, Jimmy Carr, Gbemisola Ikumelo, David Mitchell, Diane Morgan, Maisie Adam, Sam Campbell, Mel Giedroyc, and Romesh Ranganathan.
Just days before Last One Laughing season two premiered on Prime Video on March 19, Amy disclosed the “heartbreaking” death of her father, reports the Mirror.
On March 13, she posted a series of images of her dad, alongside a moving message: “Sadly, my wonderful dad lost his fight today. (Friday 13th of course, very dramatic dad!)
“I felt lucky every day to be his daughter and I felt lucky to be with him at the end. He was embarrassingly supportive of me. Gave me a one man standing ovation the first time he saw me do stand up. (It was my fourth gig and I was as bad as you’d expect.)

“He became a regular at gigs and I’m so pleased he met so many comics, friends and lovely people I work with.”
She continued: “He was heartbreakingly sentimental, the most generous guy in the pub, a proper hard worker, a great singer, incredible on the dance floor and he was cracking jokes and making us laugh right until the end.
“I’ll miss him so much. A genuine legend.”
Amy recently revealed there was a “funny” scene that was “too much” for Jimmy Carr, so had to be cut from the show.
Originally from Hull and previously based in Leeds and Manchester before moving to London, the comedian secured the 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Award for her performance Make Me Look Fit On The Poster and is one half of the comedy partnership The Delightful Sausage alongside Chris Cantrill.
Audiences may remember Amy from numerous well-known programmes including the fourth series of Netflix’s Sex Education where she played the beautician who waxed Joanna (Lisa McGrillis).
The 38-year-old has also featured in shows such as Alma’s Not Normal, Somewhere Boy, Life, and Netflix’s thriller Run Away as DC Ruby Todd. Furthermore, Amy wrote and appeared in Channel 4’s short film Toads two years ago.
You can catch Taskmaster on Channel 4 at 9pm every Thursday until June 11.
