Warm and stormy week ahead
Early morning rain should be ending soon after sunrise this morning with warm and dry conditions most of the day. There are two windows for potential showers/storms mainly later this evening and tonight. The first is for our southern communities, mainly south of I-94 from 8PM to Midnight. The second round will be after 2AM until 9AM Tuesday. All of Southeast Michigan is under a marginal severe risk with hail and wind the primary threats. We rise into the upper 70s this afternoon and wind gusts could reach 30 mph.
A stretch of warm and stormy conditions are on tap throughout the work week with highs in the 70s. There is a slight (level 2 risk) of severe thunderstorms Tuesday night with all threats on the table. The threat level mainly heightens after 8PM through the overnight.
Another marginal (level 1) risk of severe thunderstorms is on tap Wednesday with a risk for excessive rainfall and flooding. More scattered showers are expected Thursday before drier weather briefly builds in on Friday. Highs will be in the 70s until Sunday when highs fall to seasonal upper 50s.
