Matt LeBlanc Cop Drama ‘Flint’ In Works At CBS, 2 More Projects Set

As part of CBS‘ long-term development strategy, the network has announced a development room for Flint, a new drama starring and executive produced by Matt LeBlanc. Two other projects, forensic drama I Know Who You Are and comedy Hilda! In Lights, also have advanced from the pilot script stage with an order for two additional scripts each.
Additionally, CBS confirmed Deadline’s exclusive that a Fire Country – Sheriff Country medical spinoff is in early development. All four projects come from CBS Studios.
Written/executive produced by 24 veteran Evan Katz, Flint stars the Friends alum as a burned-out LAPD detective who, a week away from leaving the force, is blindsided when the city extends retirement by five years. Determined to get fired so he can collect his pension immediately, he breaks useless rules, disobeys orders, and is disrespectful to everyone in power who deserves it… All of which, to his dismay, makes him an even better detective.

Also exec producing are Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer TV.
If Flint goes to fruition, it would mark LeBlanc’s drama debut. The project also marks his return television and to CBS where he headlined the 2016 sitcom Man With a Plan. LeBlanc was most recently seen in the 2021 Friends reunion.
Written and exec produced by Corinne Kingsbury, creator of CW’s In the Dark, I Know Who You Are centers on a brilliant forensic genealogist who gets pulled back into the police force she walked away from and the partner she left behind. Using DNA technology to follow genetic breadcrumbs, the pair unearth long-buried secrets to crack the most impossible of cases — all while quietly pursuing the one case that broke them apart. Inspired by Barbara Rae-Venter’s memoir of the same name.

Barbara Rae-Venter, on whose book the drama is based, executive produces alongside Sharon Levy and Lisa Fahrenholt for Endemol Shine North America and Philly De Lacey for Screentime New Zealand.
Hilda! In Lights, written/executive produced by Abbey Caldwell (Laid), is about one of those classic shows about a spunky, small-town upstart who moves to the big city to make it on her own. There’s just one teeny, tiny, totally inconsequential difference… our hero is a 70-year-old woman named Hilda.
Will Graham, Max Linsky and Tonia Davis also exec produce.
