Wind fueling new wildfire near Goshen Canyon in southern Utah County

GOSHEN, Utah (KUTV) — A wind-driven wildfire has burned an estimated 150-200 acres in Utah County.
The human-caused Goshen Canyon Fire forced three homes to evacuate on Tuesday evening, all at the mouth of the canyon.
Karl Hunt, a spokesperson for the Utah Division of Natural Resources Forestry, Fire & State Lands, hoped the families could return by the end of the night.
“We’ll see if the strategies they’re implementing will pay off,” Hunt said of the crews fighting the fire.

Hunt mentioned Utah’s extreme drought conditions and said this fire “is an indication of how dry it is.”
As of 9:15 p.m., the fire had not been contained.
