UPDATE, April 23: The “opposites attract” romance between quiet songwriter, Hannah (Ella Bright), and Briar University’s all-star hockey athlete, Garrett (Belmont Cameli) is clearly heating up in the official trailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ Off Campus, based on Elle Kennedy’s books. “Garrett Graham doesn’t do girlfriends,” a voice says in the clip at a costume party of some sort. “So what’s really going on?”
Season 1 of Off Campus, based on the first book in Kennedy’s series, The Deal, watches the fake dating trope meet a new couple, Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham.
“So what, I help you study and you play my fake boyfriend to get Justin’s attention?” Bright’s ‘Wellsy’ asks Garrett Graham at a party as Josh Heuston’s Justin Kohl eyes her and nods, beer in hand.

It’s a deal as the pair orchestrate a pretend relationship so that Hannah can get the attention of her crush Justin, who plays in a band. Though it does take a huge black hydroflask rolling down the stairs of a college lecture hall to get him to see them acting all cuddly.
“Sometimes people sneak up on you,” Garrett says when his teammate John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) points out that last week, Garrett didn’t even know Hannah’s name.
Flash forward to Hannah doing karaoke and a genuine smile from Garrett as she talks songwriting with him and Justin. Plus, all of Garrett’s Briar University Hawks teammates — who get their own love stories in separate books — can be spotted, with a quick snapshot of Dean (Stephen Kalyn) watching Allie (Mika Abdalla) dance.

PREVIOUS, March 19: Off Campus, Amazon MGM Studios‘ college-set romantic drama series based on Elle Kennedy’s book series, is set to premiere May 13 on Prime Video. All episodes of the series, which already has been renewed for a second season, will drop at once in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The streamer also released new photos which you can see below.
Created by Louisa Levy, Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood. Season One follows the sexy and fun “opposites attract” romance between quiet songwriter, Hannah, and Briar University’s all-star hockey athlete, Garrett, per the logline.
Hockey-themed series have surged in popularity recently with the viral success of Heated Rivalry, a gay romance drama that tells the story of rival pro hockey players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie). It has become HBO Max’s top acquired scripted series ever. There also is the popular Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy, which follows a Northern Ontario minor-league hockey team.
