Gas dips below $2 on Avalon Peninsula with latest price adjustment

The price of gas dropped 2.1 cents per litre across Newfoundland and Labrador on Saturday morning.

The adjustment, announced by the Public Utilities Board on Saturday, puts maximum fuel prices on the island between $1.98 per litre on the Avalon Peninsula to as much as $2.13 per litre in the La Poile area.

In Labrador, maximum prices range between $1.48 and $2.08 per litre.

All other fuels were also lowered in price.

Diesel decreased by 4.7 cents per litre across Newfoundland, and by 6.4 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls.

Furnace oil dropped by just over four cents per litre, while stove oil decreased by just under 6.1 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls.

The next daily price adjustment, which the PUB is continuing due to market fluctuation driven by the war in the Middle East, is scheduled for Tuesday.
