Karl-Anthony Towns Trolls Cavs with IG Video Caption After Knicks Sweep to Clinch NBA Finals Berth

Karl-Anthony Towns had the perfect caption on his Instagram post after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the NBA Finals.

The New York Knicks star simply said, “analytical,” a subtle troll of Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson.

After the Cavs went down 3-0 in the series, Atkinson said Cleveland was “analytically” ahead in the series since the expected score stats favored his squad.

“I think analytically, I think we’ve won I said three-out-of-three, I think we’re two-out-of-three in the [expected score]…we’ve won two-out-of three,” Atkinson told reporters. “And I know you’re looking confused, but…if you believe in process and all that, take that layer.

“I don’t throw that on them. I see it for myself. We have this feeling, I have this feeling, then I can go to our analytical table…last night, the expected score was like one point or two. Us shooting way below expected, them shooting way over.

The numbers might have leaned the Cavs’ way in a few games, but that didn’t matter as New York dominated the series, completing a sweep on Monday.

Towns isn’t the first to troll Atkinson after his analytical comment, and it might take a while for the head coach to live down his words.
