Police identify man shot, killed in SE Portland early Sunday morning

Portland Police have identified a man who was shot and killed in Southeast Portland’s Centennial neighborhood early Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported at about 3:10 a.m. along Southeast Stark Street between 146th and 148th Avenues.

First responders said they arrived to find 43-year-old David Livingston with injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died of those injuries.

The medical examiner ruled Livingston died of homicide by gunshot wound.

Family members provided the following statement about Livingston’s passing:

David was the protector of our family. He always stood up for those he loved. Whenever anyone needed help, he was there. He’s a hard worker and always found ways to show up and provide however he could. He was a father of five. He had a funny sense of humor and knew how to make people laugh. His children, friends, and family are devastated by his death. However, everyone David was loved by will always honor his memory.
