HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – The CBS Evening News will broadcast live from Connecticut’s capital city as the show travels across America.
Tony Dokoupil will anchor the broadcast from Hartford.
Dokoupil is a Connecticut native. He said he was born in Farmington. His parents met in Connecticut when his mother was studying to become a teacher and his father was working as a roofer.
He said they met at a bar.
“Absolutely, I love Connecticut. The pizza is the best here, don’t tell New York. That’s absolutely true, ‘pizza capital of the world,’” Dokoupil said. “I go to Cape Cod and I always make a stop in Connecticut on the way for pizza.”
The special edition of CBS Evening News airs at 6:30 p.m.
