Pitching Probables For Series Between Seattle Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks

SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners will be returning to T-Mobile Park in Seattle for a six-game homestand beginning Friday, fresh off finally gaining hold of sole possession of first place in the American League West.
The Mariners gained the top spot in the division after sweeping the Athletics in a three-game series, which took place from Monday through Wednesday at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, Calif. The A’s were in first place in the division entering the series.

Seattle will look to maintain and extend its lead at the top of the division with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which begins at 7:10 p.m. PT on Friday at T-Mobile Park.
Arizona will enter the series in second place in the National League West, 4.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they currently occupy the top wild card spot in the NL. The Diamondbacks have won 10 of their last 11.
Here’s the pitching matchups for the series between the Mariners and Diamondbacks.

George Kirby will be looking to bounce back after a rough, albeit bad-luck-filled outing against the Kansas City Royals on May 23.
Kirby struck out three and allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits in six innings pitched against the Royals.
Zac Gallen will be looking to go deeper and keep Seattle’s offense off the board following his outing against the Colorado Rockies on May 23. He fanned six, walked two and allowed three earned runs on six hits in 5.1 innings pitched.

Bryan Woo will also be looking to have a better outing compared to his latest one, which took place May 24 at Kauffman Stadium.
Woo struck out four, walked three (one intentionally) and allowed four earned runs on six hits in 4.2 innings pitched.

Ryne Nelson will be entering his start against the M’s coming off his best outing of the season.
Nelson fanned three, walked three and allowed one earned run on six hits in eight innings pitched against the Rockies on May 24. It was Nelson’s third-straight quality start of at least seven innings pitched.

Bryce Miller will close out the series as the starter in Seattle’s third time through the “piggyback” arrangement between him and Luis Castillo. It will be Miller’s second time starting since the team started piggybacking the two starting pitchers together.
Miller struck out four and allowed two earned runs on five hits (one homer) in five innings pitched against the A’s on May 25.

The 27-year-old righty fanned seven, walked one and allowed one hit in 5.2 innings of work in his last start, which came against the Chicago White Sox on May 19.
Merrill Kelly will be looking to throw his fifth-consecutive quality start. He struck out four, walked two and allowed two earned runs on four hits in seven innings pitched against the San Francisco Giants on May 25.
