Police: Argument at park ends in fatal shooting in east Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead Thursday morning.

The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. at a park in the 4900 block of Lana Drive, near Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway.
Investigators say three or four people were near a bench when an argument broke out, and one person pulled out a gun and shot the victim, a man in his 20s.
Officers arrived and found the man lying on the ground. He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Police say the group fled before officers arrived, and they believe the suspect is also a man in his 20s.

Residents are urged to avoid the area due to a large police presence as the investigation continues.
